I graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1995 and was admitted to the Virginia State Bar that same year. In 1996, I joined the Public Defender's Office for the City of Richmond, Virginia. During my time as a Public Defender, I appeared in court practically every day, sometimes in both the morning and the afternoon. I represented people charged with minor offenses, such as driving on a suspended driver's license, and very serious offenses, such as capital murder, and everything in between. In 2001, I left the Public Defenders and went into private practice. Since leaving the Public Defender's Office, I have continued to practice both criminal and traffic defense. However, my practice has expanded to include family law and personal injury law. My family law practice includes assisting clients with equitable distribution (dividing marital assets and debts), spousal support, child custody and child support. My personal injury practice runs the gambit from automobile accidents to premises liability.
